Registering for electives at the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis might seem confusing, so here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Determine which electives you want to take by going to VIPER –> Curriculum –> Curriculum Handbook –> then either choose your year under “Courses by Level” or “Track Elective Recommendations” (Courses by Level will show you all the possible electives that you can take whereas Track Elective Recommendations will show you what the school recommends/requires you to take each term)
2. Look up the CRN by going to VIPER –> Curriculum –> CREST then select the appropriate term and find the courses you are interested in. Click the course name (NOT SYLLABUS) and at the top right of the page is a CRN, write that down!
3. Go to SIS Web –> LOGIN to Student Information System on the Web –> Student Services & Financial Aid –> Register for Classes (Incl. Adding & Dropping) –> Scroll down to the bottom and enter the CRNs of the electives you wish to take –> Click “Submit Changes” and you’re all set!
