Hi Shar,
I happened to stumble upon your blog while researching what I would need to do in order to pursue my dream of becoming a veterinarian. Like you, I have a BS in a completely unrelated topic and also a semester of law school down before I realized just how unhappy I was. If I am going to put in all this work (and money), I want it to be for something that will make me happy. I figure, 25 isn’t too old to choose what to do with the rest of my life.
I just wanted to ask you, how did you go about getting everything started in terms of knowing what courses you would need, how to get in, etc. Any advice/information you could provide would be extremely helpful and appreciated. I am just stuck in terms of not knowing where to even begin and feel so overwhelmed.
Thank you,
LZ

Congrats on making a life-changing decision! It’s a hard thing to do, but it is so worthwhile!
The AAVMC website can be quite helpful for people starting out, specifically this page: http://www.aavmc.org/Students-Applicants-and-Advisors/Pre-Vet-Student-Resources.aspx
Also, a great book to use as a resource would be the Veterinary Medical School Admissions Requirements (VMSAR)
And start getting experience with veterinary medicine and animals in general in whatever capacity you can, the more species and diverse the experience the better!
Good luck and feel free to let me know if you have any additional questions!
